hiatus

i never thought i'd find myself again inside an internet cafe, but here i am.. after the loonnnggesst time.. to check my mail. haaaayy!! my pc finally gave up after 3+ years of almost non-stop operations and 3 crashes. i'm still undecided as to whether or not i'm going to buy a new laptop or just have my pc fixed. but right now, after what dominic said last night that the problem might be the motherboard itself and i have to buy a new one, the former seems appealing to me.

since i don't have the resources to buy myself a new laptop right now, i would have to do with visiting the internet cafe at least once every two weeks, depending of course on how productive i feel that time. that means, i cannot reply to your emails on time, blog updates would be occassional, downloading songs would halt, etc etc. *sigh*

so for really urgent matters, just contact me at my cellphone. otherwise, i will be responding to your messages the next i log-in.

and yeah, could you guys help me find a buyer for my computer? yeah it's broken, i know, but it does not need to be sold in bulk. pwede ring by piece. ehehe... Ü if you know someone who knows how this trade works, patulong naman po!

and dom, if you have the time, can you please take a look na rin at my computer. maybe there's still a chance that it'll work. of course, depende na rin on your availability. Ü

o sya, see you guys next time! Ü

oh yeah, before i end this i just want to share with you the other reason why i'm here at Netopia. today i planned to buy some stuff for our GK Bayani Challenge in Leyte next week. but when i got here, i realized i forgot all my credit cards at home! and i don't have enough funds in my atm-savings account. so i had to go here to transfer some money from my other no-atm account to my atm account! buti na lang i brought my security device with me. drat! stupid stupid talaga! ehehehe! beat the heat!

*

Things to do to beat the summer heat (or how to deal with it). Especially now that it’s Holy Week, where the malls are closed and local TV stations are signed off for 2 days. I have a few things in mind:

1. hit the beach – now’s the perfect time to go swimming! it’s hot and you have a few days vacation, so grab your swimsuits and chill. If you don’t mind an overcrowded beach (and I do mean OVERCROWDED), I would suggest of course that you go to Boracay. But if you want a peaceful and serene getaway, there are a few places in Batangas that offer the same comfort.

2. DVD Marathon-ing – go ahead and stack up on your DVDs, may it be pirated or original. You have 4 days anyway to catch up on the movies and TV series that you have missed. My sister went to MCS the other day and bought CSI Season 5 for me and Six Feet Under Season 3 for her. My other sister also bought Desperate Housewives Season 2 for her. Plus we still have unwatched episodes of South Park, The Simpsons, The 4400, etc etc. okaaay, so we have a whole lotta dvd watching to do!

3. Bisita iglesia – for all the devoted Catholics out there. It’s Holy Week anyway. But if you’re not a practicing catholic like me, think of it as another excuse to go out of town, where instead of hitting the beach, you get to visit all the beautiful churches outside your hometown. 2 years ago, margo, ninang ne, tito ody, ariel, and I went to Ilocos for 5 days for our bisita iglesia. We visited all these amazing churches around Ilocos as well as other tourist spots. Paoay Church is my personal favorite. We stayed at this private place by the beach so margo and I got to swim as well during our stay there.

4. internet galore! – this includes playing PC games, updating your blog (ehem ehem), downloading songs/videos, IM-ing your online family and friends, etc etc. personally, I consider this as one of my “summer plans” since I don’t get to use my PC everyday. Hehehe! Babaw noh?

5. reserve a room at a hotel, check-in, and sleep – well, this is for people who can afford such luxuries and are not blessed with air-conditioning at their homes at the same time. But isn’t it ironic for people who are that well-off not to have air-conditioning at home? Anyway, I really did consider this, not because I’m rich, but because of the other reason… WE DON’T HAVE AIR-CON! Our house transforms into a hell hole during summer. Regardless of the number of electric fans you have at home, when all they blast into your face is hot air, then you’ve gained nothing more but a new found respect for “pandesal”. so I thought why not spend 24 hours in the only place in the city where you can sleep wrapped under the covers because the room gets way too cold even though its summer… in a hotel! Yanee also had the same idea and I told her that if she’d told me that a little earlier, then we could’ve pushed through.

6. hit the gym – the more you sweat, the more you lose all those calories you’ve stocked up while you were on vacation. Hahaha! And it’s hot, so you sweat more. Besides, you don’t have any schedules to follow so you can go to the gym anytime you want, and stay there for as long as you like.

7. reward yourself with a relaxing massage – aaahhh this is the life! After months/days/weeks of working your ass off, don’t you think it’s about time to go to the spa and let the therapists “massage” all those stress out?

8. read a book – now’s the time to finally start and try to finish a book you’ve been meaning to read since last year. If reading a book at home without falling asleep is considered a major challenge to you, then I suggest lounging at your favorite coffee shop. You might want to choose a quiet neighborhood if you don’t want distractions of any kind while you sink yourself into your story and indulging in grande iced non-fat caramel macchiato.

9. learn how to cook – for people who are lacking the needed cooking skills, then now is an opportunity to crash your kitchen and experiment! If your finished product comes out ok, then congratulations, you have learned to prepare a new meal (and get to eat it too!). if it’s a total disaster, then, uhm, maybe you can let your dog eat it. Eheheeh…

10. sleep – everyday in your life since you started working, you complain that you lack sleep. It even came to a point that you thought you had insomnia. Well, you are given 4 days… go ahead and catch up on your sleep, if you don’t mind the heat. You can take my suggestion of checking in at a hotel to sleep, if you’re up for it. Ü

what have I been doing so far? #2, #4, and #10. shet! ugaling baboy, as we call it. Waaay too bad! #5 was really an option, but i decided to back out. I won’t spend that much money alone just to sleep! and yeah, I’ve been doing a little of #8 as well.

Hopefully in a day or two I get to do #7…

"but without these memories, where is the love" - Johnny Hates Jazz

this post can only be understood by yagie, nikki, dolly, roscel, stella, jandy. others have an option to continue reading... oh btw, this is my entry from an "old blog". hehehe! *wink wink*

------------------

uploading pics at my yahoo album and turning back the clock... here is what i have discovered in my files: (not new to me and the rest of the toxic nips):

that i was once addicted to australian football. for some reason, i find the game really interesting... and them boys too! Ü i cheer for the Sydney Swans Football Team and yeah, the Brisbane Lions too! (heck, i still know them!!)

before after

this is hottie Jason Saddington, formerly # 22 of the Sydney Swans before he moved to Carlton. he was the cutest rookie in the team, yagie and i have this uber crush on him! but look at him today!! is he the same person? i'm finding it very hard to believe that... ampanget! =D pero ay sus... lalo na to...

this is Dale Lewis. i don't remember if the right pic is an after pic, but it does not change one fact... hindi sya gwapo!!! =D i used to swoon over this guy, never missing a game or an episode of the AFL show with host Nick McArdle (nyah, may pic nga!) just to see him for 30 minutes. worst thing i did was sending emails to the show telling him just how cute he is... and host reading my email to him... on air!!! wtf?!?! sheesh, it makes me cringe to even think about it! but can you see?! there's not a single gwapo factor in him. but i did find him very attractive. i hate to admit that there is a reason which made me like him and it irritates me more not knowing that reason why! anampotah talaga! but this next one.. aahh... this one i will never stop admiring...

greatest player of all time! astig to, mehn! he's retired na, but he left behind a legacy (and a record to die for!) meet Tony Lockett (aka Plugger). i wouldn't go blabbing about his greatness for you wouldn't really understand. let's just say, he's the Kobe Bryant of aussie football! we fans know what that means! hehehe! Ü

its feels great to bring back those memories! yagie can attest to this, i have been on "reminisce" mode these past few weeks. i've been downloading and listening to old british boy bands and former pop sensations, and transferring this contagious mood to plee and keh! so since i'm in the mood, todo todohin na toh!!! lahat na ibalik!

BWAHAHAHAHA!!!!!

currently addicted to...

i downloaded this at Yahoo! games and i'm totally hooked!! the concept of the game is actually pleasing customers with your restaurant's service (seating customers, getting orders, serving food, etc etc) and earning money until a goal is reached, then you move on to the next level. the more levels you finish, the more items will be added, and eventually you'll get to open a new restaurant. try this! Ü

i also downloaded this! also courtesy of Yahoo! games, of course! this one's self explanatory since i'm pretty sure we have all watched this when we were kids, along with Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune. though this one's not as addicting as Diner Dash but the challenge can be interesting. hehehe! Ü

sunset

isn't this just so relaxing? watching the sunset at the beach while sipping mango shake (or in our case, eating isaw) before we head back to our room and prepare for dinner. this miracle happens everyday but we only get to appreciate its beauty on places like these... building-less and smog-free. this is one of the reasons why i keep coming back to Boracay every year. it's so breahtaking!

at ang swerte ng mga nakasakay sa 3 paraw na yon ha!

ok here is another shot, really really beautiful... pero may panira. lower left side of the picture, can you see the guy? oh diba, kulang na lang may background music... intro ng "Careless Whisper" by George Michael. or yung, "i'm never gonna dance again, guilty feet have got no rhythm..." ooooohhhhhhh!

hahahaha!

be back to Boracay next year!!! Ü sama na kayo!
